On treks the accommodation can be in a hotel/homestay/lodge/guesthouse/tent on 2/3 sharing basis. In local areas we try to provide accommodation in homestays and lodges to provide livelihood to the locals. It also helps you feel the life in mountains and know about the villages in close proximity.
You need to carry your own backpack during the trek. If due to any reason you are unable to carry it, then you can offload your backpack. There are extra charges applicable for backpack offloading on some treks. Make sure you talk regarding this with your trek leader prior.

Yes, we do provide trek gear on rent. Trekking demands a good investment on trek gear and clothing. This can prove expensive if you are not a frequent trekker. So, renting trek gear from us can prove extremely beneficial for you as it can save a lot of money. We provide down feather jackets, trek poles, trek shoes on rent for all Himalayan treks.
We serve three meals a day on the trek. The meals include breakfast, lunch, and dinner. All meals provided by us are vegetarian meals which are nutritious and help you stay fit and healthy throughout the trek.
At all the base camps, there are separate washrooms for gents and ladies. On the trek, there are separate toilet tents with western seats for gents and ladies depending upon the number of people on the trek. Our trek leader will give you all the instructions about how to use the toilet tents.
You can charge your devices at the base camp hotel. Once you start the trek, there are no charging facilities available. We recommend you to carry power banks to charge your phones on the trek.
In most of the Himalayan treks, there is very limited internet connectivity. Hence, please do not expect internet availability after you leave the base camp hotel.
In remote regions you cannot use debit or credit card. So, on your trek, please carry sufficient cash in order to avoid inconvenience. With every trek mentioned on our website we have given the details of last ATM point and mobile connectivity.

Mountainfit is always prepared for any emergency situations that may arise on any high-altitude trek. Our professional guides and trek leaders are certified in mountaineering courses and are aware of handling emergency situations. Our trek leaders always carry a medical kit and we have all the arrangements available to send you back to the base camp in case of an emergency.

Our team will be there to guide you once you register for a trek. We will create a WhatsApp group 15 days prior to the departure of the trek. You will receive all the instructions and updates about the trek once you are added in the group.
Yes, you can leave behind your extra luggage at the basecamp. On some treks, every trekker is permitted to leave behind one piece of luggage at no charge. Your luggage will be handed back to you on the last day of your trek. You can leave behind any kind of bags, including backpacks, suitcases, duffel bags or kit bags. Please ensure you leave no valuables (laptops, cash, electronics) in this luggage. Leave your bag at your own responsibility.
If you are a team of five members and above, Mountainfit can give you a group discount. The discount may vary depending on which trek you have registered with us. If you have a large group, please write to us before registering.
As long as you are fit and prepared for a trek, you can choose slightly difficult treks as well. However, there are some treks that require previous high altitude trek experience. Please consult our Mountainfit experts before you register for tough and difficult treks.
You can register and pay for a trek but give yourself enough time to prepare. If you do not have a fitness routine, register for a trek that starts after 2 months. Yes, at basecamp you can take a bath but not on trek. At high altitudes, your core body temperature can drastically fall if you bathe with cold water. It is also difficult to get hot water. This is why you cannot take a bath.
Mountainfit doesn’t give daily updates to your family; you can share trek itinerary with them to know on what day you will be where. We take your emergency contact number at the time of registration. If there is any emergency, we will call the emergency number. It would be best to inform your family that you will not be in the network area until you return to the base camp.
You're welcome to join us as a solo woman trekker. Usually, there are at least 4-5 women in any trekking batch. So, you can comfortably join us on a trek as a solo woman trekker. To make sure you know your trek mates before you meet them, we create a WhatsApp group and a pre-trek briefing is also conducted. That way, you'll not be trekking with strangers. If anything is making you uncomfortable during the trek, you can speak to our Trek Leader without any hesitation. Regarding your safety and privacy, you will stay with another woman in a tent. We also have separate toilet tents for men and women.
After you have cancelled your trek, if you have opted for a refund, the refund amount will be sent in the same account in which you have made the payment. There are no locker facilities in the cloakroom. We do not recommend you to carry your laptop to the basecamp. If you are getting any valuables like laptop, make sure the bags are locked properly. But please note that you are leaving them in the cloakroom at your own risk.
Mountainfit provides all meals and daily energy packs on treks but it is always recommended that you carry some dry snacks with you.
No. Mountainfit does not serve non-veg food on the trek. Only in case the group is comfortable we serve meals with eggs.
Usually, there are freshwater sources on the treks. In fact, that is how trekking trails are planned as well. However, if you wish to, you can carry a water filter/water purification tablet with you.
We strictly prohibit smoking and alcohol consumption. These can be fatal at high altitude. So even if you are a smoker, you are expected to keep away from it during the trek. You will not be permitted for the trek if you are found smoking or drinking or even carrying alcohol.
Male and female trekkers stay in separate tents and rooms. In all our treks, the tent sharing will be on double or triple sharing basis.
