Why Tarsar Marsar Lake Trek?

Day 1 - Srinagar Airport to Aru
Assemble at Hotel New Park, near Ghat No 9, Dal Lake till 12.00 pm and transfer to Aru having a wonderful mix of grasslands, scattered forests and snow covered mountains. Overnight stay in camping at Aru.
Day 2 - Aru Village to Lidderwat Camp
Trek starts from Aru Village with a gentle climb entering the forest with an easy hike towards Lidderwat on the well-marked trail with towering pine trees. It is almost a flat and easy trail up to Lidderwat and you would encounter a lot of tourist making day trips to the place. Overnight stay at Lidderwat in tents.
Day 3 - Lidderwat Camp to Shekwas Camp
Today we start our trek towards Shekwass. You would find many friendly shepherds on the route and it is a very beautiful valley, not much strenuous. Overnight stay in tents at Shekwass Campsite.
Day 4 - Shekwas Camp to Tarsar Lake Camp.
From Shekwass we move towards Tarsar Lake which is a gradual ascent, it would take us around 2 hours to reach Tarsar Lake. Enjoy the turquoise blue waters of Tarsar for the day.
Day 5 - Tarsar Lake Camp to Sundersar Lake Camp
We will trek towards the sister lake of Tarsar that lies on the opposite side of the mountain on the west. A steep ascent taking about 3 hours and a gradual descend leads to another stunning lake called Sundersar and visit Marsar Lake. Overnight stay in the tents at Sundersar.
Day 6 - Sundersar Lake Camp to Lidderwat Camp
Today we start off the day by visiting Marsar Lake and head down towards Homwas Camp. Overnight camp at Homwas.
Day 7 - Lidderwat Camp to Aru to Srinagar
Starting off early morning today, we descend from Lidderwat Camp to Aru Village, sweeping over the same enchanting meadow lands we had experienced on the first days, and the same Lidder River, now to be followed downstream. We will reach Aru by Noon. After Lunch we will leave for Srinagar. Overnight stay at Srinagar.
Day 8 - It's time to say goodbye to your fellow trekkers and start your return journey towards your respective cities.
What is included in the tour
- Transport support from Hotel New Park, Srinagar to Hotel New Park, Srinagar.
- All meals starting from Aru to Aru.
- Professional guide, cook and support staff.
- Clean sleeping bags and mats.
- Good quality ‘A’ shaped or dome tents.
- Kitchen tents, common tents, toilet tents with portable toilet seats
- Forest entry charges for Indian nationals. For non-Indian passport holders, there will be an additional charge.
- Porter and mule support to carry camping equipment and NOT personal luggage.
- Tented accommodation throughout the trek on sharing basis.
- Accommodation on Double Sharing Basis in Aru on Day 1 and Srinagar on Day 7.
- All applicable taxes.
What is NOT included in the tour
- Personal expenses like tips, personal medicines, phone calls etc.
- Airport Pickup and Drop from Srinagar. (Can be arranged at an additional cost.)
- Any insurance.
- Any transport support during the trek apart from what is included above
- Any cost or services not mentioned in the Inclusions
- Cost of Sightseeing, Shopping and etc.
- Cost arising due to unforeseen incidents like bad weather, medical evacuation, road blocks etc.
- Porter/Mule charges to carry personal luggage. Can be arranged at an additional cost of INR 400 per day (1 soft bag per person < 12 kg)
