The Manali-Deotibba base trek is a easy to moderate level trek in the Himachal Pradesh region of India. The trek starts from Manali and takes you through the beautiful and scenic landscapes of the Himalayas. The trek takes around 4-5 days to complete and is a great option for those who are looking for a challenging and adventurous trekking experience.

The trek is known for its natural beauty, with lush green forests, alpine meadows, and snow-capped peaks. Along the way, trekkers can also see wildlife such as monal pheasants, black bears, and snow leopards. The trek passes through picturesque villages and hamlets, giving trekkers a glimpse of the local culture and lifestyle.

  • Itinerary

    Day 1 - Delhi to Manali 

    • Report at New Delhi near Majnu Ka Tila by 5:00 pm and leave for Manali via Volvo bus.
    • Overnight bus journey.

    Day 2 – Manali

    • Arrival at Manali & transfer to base camp.
    • Enjoy a short acclimatization walk in the evening to Jogini falls or Vashisht village.
    • Overnight stay at Manali.

    Day 3 - Manali base camp to Rhauni Thach

    • The trek begins with gentle climbs through alpine meadows and forests.
    • We will reach Rhauni Thach.
    • Hot lunch at Rhauni Thach. 
    • Overnight camp at Rhauni Thach.

    Day 4 – Rhauni Thach to Jobdi (3000mts)

    • The route from here onwards leads towards Jobdi on grassy banks that slope from high cliffs.
    • Jobdi is a favourite place for the brown bears to hibernate in the nearby caves in winter season.
    • Overnight camp at Jobdi. 

    Day 5 - Jobdi to Deo Tibba Base to Jobdi (3200m)

    • The walk begins with gentle slopes over the beautiful meadows and the latter half of the trek is through the snowy and rocky terrain.
    • Bhuj Dhar offers spectacular views of the Deo Tibba range and the Kalihani Pass.
    • The trek is all along the stream which originates from the Deo Tibba Glacier.
    • This patch of the trek is a surreal experience of trekking in an alpine zone.
    • Overnight camp at Jobdi.

    Day 6 - Jobdi to Manali

    • From the beautiful meadows of the upper Himalaya, we walk down towards Jobadi Nallah and begin the descend upto Pirni village.
    • Transfer to base camp at Manali.
    • Free time post lunch to explore Manali.

    Day 7 - Manali to Delhi

    • We can explore Manali in the morning and head towards white water rafting or sightseeing.
    • Post lunch, we will leave for Delhi by Volvo.
    • Overnight bus journey. 

    Day 8 - Delhi

    • Reach Delhi by 8:00 am.
    • You can book your onward journey anytime after 11.00 am on this day.
    • Trek Ends.
    Inclusions/Exclusions

    What is included in the tour

    • Transport support from Delhi to Delhi in Volvo Bus.
    • All vegetarian meals starting Base Camp to Base Camp(Manali to Manali). 
    • Professional guide, cook and support staff. 
    • Clean sleeping bags and mats
    • Good quality ‘A’ shaped or dome tents
    • Kitchen tents, common tents, toilet tents with portable toilet seats
    • Forest entry charges for Indian nationals. For non-Indian passport holders, there will be an additional charge
    • Porter and mule support to carry camping equipment and NOT personal luggage
    • Tented accommodation throughout the trek on a triple sharing basis.
    • Stay in Manali before and after trek.
    • All applicable taxes.

    What is NOT included in the tour

    • Personal expenses like tips, personal medicines, phone calls etc.
    • Any transport support during the trek apart from what is included above
    • Any cost or services not mentioned in the Inclusions
    • Cost of Sightseeing or River Rafting.
    • Cost arising due to unforeseen incidents like bad weather, medical evacuation, road blocks etc.
    • Porter/Mule charges to carry personal luggage. It can be arranged at an additional cost of INR 300 per day (1 soft bag per person < 12 kg)

    Few Important Tips:

    • Dress in layers: Carry at least 3 layers at the trek.  Weather is quite unpredictable so we need to keep ourselves warm. Keep it simple, but warm enough. Pack your backpack as per provided Trek essential list.
    • Thermos Flask (1ltr) is very important on winter trek as water in normal bottle freezes due to severe temperature.
    • Do not carry any precious items like jewellery at the trek. Mountainfit Team will not be responsible for loss of damage of such items.
    • Carry extra plastic bags for wet clothes/garbage/etc. “DO NOT LITTER THE TRAIL, KEEP IT CLEAN”
    • Drone and satellite phone is not allowed so please don’t bring any
