Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Kathgodam

  • Altitude (Kathgodam): 548 m / 1,800 ft.

Arrive in Kathgodam, the charming town nestled at the base of the mighty Himalayas. The town is the perfect starting point for your Himalayan adventure. How to reach Kathgodham: Overnight or Day train or bus from Delhi. Ideally fly in on Day 1 early morning to Delhi and you can take early morning train and reach Kathgodham by 3 pm.


Day 2: Journey to Gogina

  • Altitude (Kathgodam): 548 m / 1,800 ft.
  • Altitude (Gogina): 1,950 m / 6,400 ft.
  • Distance: 235 km | Duration: 10-11 hrs

Start your Himalayan adventure with a scenic drive from Kathgodam to Gogina. As you wind your way through beautiful valleys and winding mountain roads, you'll gradually climb higher into the heart of the mountains. The drive, though long, offers stunning vistas of the surrounding peaks and valleys, setting the perfect tone for the trek ahead.


 

Day 3: Trek to Namik

  • Altitude (Namik): 2,260 m / 7,400 ft.
  • Trek Distance: 5-6 km | Duration: 5-6 hrs

From Gogina, set out on your first trek towards Namik. The path winds through lush forests and open meadows, and with every step, the mountain air becomes more refreshing. The gradual ascent gives you time to acclimatize and take in the beauty of the surrounding peaks. Upon reaching Namik, relax and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of this mountain village.


Day 4: Trek to Bajimanian Kharak

  • Altitude (Bajimanian Kharak): 3,230 m / 9,700 ft.
  • Trek Distance: 6 km | Duration: 6-7 hrs

Today, your trek continues as you ascend towards Bajimanian Kharak. The steep climb takes you through thick forests and rocky trails, but the reward is worth every step. As you reach the top, you’ll be greeted with panoramic views of the surrounding peaks, valleys, and glaciers. Bajimanian Kharak offers a peaceful, secluded spot to reflect on your journey.


Day 5: Trek to Chophu via Thal Tok

  • Altitude (Chophu): 3,566 m / 11,700 ft.
  • Altitude (Thal Tok): 3,380 m / 11,100 ft.
  • Trek Distance: 6 km | Duration: 6-7 hrs

This day takes you to higher altitudes as you trek towards Chophu, passing through the stunning Thal Tok pass. The air gets thinner, and the landscape opens up to reveal vast alpine meadows and towering peaks. Chophu, at 11,700 ft, offers magnificent views of the surrounding snow-capped mountains, making the hard trek totally worth it.


Day 6: Trek to Parava Thor – Reaching New Heights

  • Altitude (Ranthan Top): 3,930 m / 12,887 ft.
  • Altitude (Parava Thor): 2,800 m / 9,200 ft.
  • Trek Distance: 9 km | Duration: 8-9 hrs

Today, you will experience the highest point of your trek. The climb to Ranthan Top, towering at 12,887 ft, is challenging but immensely rewarding. The views from the top are awe-inspiring, with a vast stretch of the Himalayas unfolding before you. From there, descend to Parava Thor, a beautiful alpine meadow that marks the halfway point of today’s trek.


Day 7: Return Trek – Parava Thor to Gogina

  • Altitude (Gogina): 6,400 ft.
  • Trek Distance: 11 km | Duration: 5-6 hrs

After a few days of high-altitude trekking, today's descent back to Gogina will feel like a relaxing change of pace. The trail offers sweeping views of the valleys below, and as you descend, you’ll pass through charming mountain villages. Arrive in Gogina with a sense of accomplishment and enjoy the quiet serenity of the region.


Day 8: Drive Back – Gogina to Kathgodam

  • Altitude (Gogina): 1,950 m / 6,400 ft.
  • Distance: 235 km | Duration: 10-11 hrs

Bid farewell to the stunning mountains as you embark on the long but scenic drive back to Kathgodam. This is the perfect time to reflect on the incredible experiences and views you’ve encountered over the past week. By the time you return to Kathgodam, you’ll carry with you memories that will last a lifetime.


Day 9: Departure from Kathgodam – Farewell to the Himalayas

  • Altitude (Kathgodam): 548 m / 1,800 ft.

After a week of unforgettable trekking and mountain adventures, it’s time to say goodbye to the Himalayas. Whether you’re heading home or continuing your journey, the memories of this epic trek will stay with you forever.
